Suspensions for misconduct Part 2

Under the Employment Act 1955 (Act 265), employer are given the right to suspend an employee with half pay for the period of not more than two week.
If the employer wish to suspend more than two week, for the purposes of maintaining the contract of service, an employer shall pay the full amount of wages for normal hours if work.
If he fail to do so, the employee has the option to terminate the contract of service and brought to the relevant authority his dissatisfaction over the action by the employer and seek remedy permitted by the law on the ground of breach of contract for non performance of the wages clause or oral promise on wages made by the employer.

As well accepted in this country, for the purpose of investigating misconduct employer are equipped with the inherent power to suspend their employees.
While many perceived this right as absolute, restrictive principles must also given as to safeguard the interests of the alleged perpetrators.
Wages as the crux of an employment contract has become a measure to the execution of employer suspension right's.
